Betsy
Music Residency
DESCRIPTION
A one-week
residency in which Roadside Theater comes to your community, college,
or high school and mount a production of Betsy using a local actor
as the narrator and your local musicians as the jazz band, performing
with Roadside.
REQUIREMENTS
- Enthusiastic,
accomplished musicians for the jazz band
- Can
be at the high school, college, or adult level
- A
music teacher or jazz band director willing to teach and rehearse
the Betsy musical score with local musicians in advance of the
residency and during the residency week
- A
talented local actor to play the role of Narrator
- A
rehearsal space for pre-residency rehearsals
- A
performance space with good acoustics and general theatrical lighting
that is available for residency
week rehearsals and performances
- Acoustics
may need to be supported by a sound system
RESIDENCY

Prior to residency
- Musical
score, script, and sound recording are sent to teacher/jazz band
